A stamp mockup shows a client how a logo, badge or monogram will look when it is pressed in ink, sealed in wax or printed on a postage stamp. It turns a flat vector into something that feels real, which makes a brand presentation far easier to sign off.
We went through the big free mockup libraries and picked 17 free stamp mockups that still download today: rubber and self-inking stamps, wax seals and postage stamps. Every file is free. For each one we list the format, size, licence where the source states it, and a link to the original download page.
How to choose a stamp mockup
- Type of stamp: rubber and self-inking stamps suit labels, packaging and business details. Wax seals suit weddings, wine and luxury brands. Postage stamps suit illustrators, travel brands and stationery sets.
- Format: a Photoshop PSD with smart objects is the standard, and every file here is a PSD. Free stamp mockups in Figma are rare, so plan on PSD. If you do not have Photoshop, Photopea opens PSD files in the browser for free.
- Resolution: 4000 px wide or more gives you room for close crops and print. Around 2000 to 3000 px is enough for a slide deck or a social post.
- Editable layers: check that you can change the ink or wax colour, not only the artwork. Some files also let you change the background, move the stamp or swap the paper.
- Licence: most files here are free for personal and commercial use, but always read the terms on the download page. You can use the finished images in client work. You cannot resell or share the mockup file itself.

Tips for using stamp mockups
- Use a one-colour version of the logo. Real stamps print in a single ink, so drop gradients and shadows and place a solid black vector or transparent PNG in the smart object. The mockup adds the colour.
- Thicken thin lines. Ink spreads and wax softens edges, so hairlines and tiny text disappear. Check the design at the size of a real stamp, usually 25 to 50 mm across.
- Keep wax seals simple. A monogram or a bold symbol in the centre with a short ring of text reads best. Fine detail gets lost in the wax.
- Check the mirroring. Text on the rubber face of a real stamp is reversed. Most mockups flip it for you, but look closely before you send the image to a client.
- Pick a real ink colour. Black, red, blue and violet look like real stamp pads. Brand colours such as bright pink or neon green can look fake on a rubber stamp.
- Show it in use. A stamp on a kraft mailer, a letterhead or a box tells a better story than a stamp on blank paper. Pair it with matching stationery so the brand feels complete.

A stamp mockup is a layered image file, usually a Photoshop PSD, that shows a realistic stamp scene with a smart object for your design. You paste your logo into the smart object, save it, and it appears as an ink print, a wax seal or a postage stamp with the right texture and lighting.
Are these stamp mockups free for commercial use?
Most of them are. GraphicBurger, Good Mockups and Mockups Design state their files are free for commercial use, and the Design Bolts stamp on Unblast is free for personal and commercial use. For the others, read the licence on the download page before you use the images in paid work.
How do I make my logo look like a real rubber stamp?
Use a one-colour version of the logo with bold lines and place it in a rubber stamp mockup. The mockup adds the ink texture and uneven edges. For a rougher look, add a distressed texture or a grunge brush on top of the artwork inside the smart object.
Can I edit a stamp mockup without Photoshop?
